Claude Team & Enterprise — FAQ for Thai Organizations Before You Buy

Claude Team and Enterprise for Thai organizations — frequently asked questions
  • 04
  • June

Thai organizations contact us about buying Claude Team and Enterprise licenses every week, and the questions procurement, IT, and finance teams ask most often tend to circle a few topics — what does it really cost, how many seats minimum, how secure is the data, can we get a local tax invoice, and should we pick Team or Enterprise. This article gathers those questions in one place, with figures and facts verified as of June 2026, so you can decide faster.

Quick summary before you scroll

  • Team = self-serve, 5+ seats — Standard $20 / Premium $100 per seat/month (annual)
  • Enterprise = custom, ~50 seat minimum — adds SSO, SCIM, audit, ZDR, Compliance API (contact sales)
  • All prices are USD, excluding tax — Thai customers add 7% VAT
  • Team/Enterprise data is not used for training by default (unlike Free/Pro/Max)
  • Buying through Grand Linux = local tax invoice with 7% VAT, PO support, payment in Baht, managed renewals

What is the difference between Claude Team and Claude Enterprise?

Both are organization plans, but they differ in team size, purchasing method, and level of governance — Team suits small-to-mid teams that can self-configure, while Enterprise is for organizations needing compliance, SSO, and data residency.

Topic Claude Team Claude Enterprise
Minimum seats 5 seats typically ~50 seats
How to buy Self-serve via admin console Custom — contact sales
SSO / SAML Basic SAML SSO + domain capture, SCIM
Audit logs / RBAC Basic detailed + role-based
Data retention 30 days default configurable + Zero Data Retention
Compliance API / IP allowlist
Context window Standard up to 500K tokens (some models)
Pricing $20–$100/seat/month (annual) contact sales (seat fee + usage)

How much do Claude Team and Enterprise cost?

Team has two seat tiers; Enterprise is custom-priced. The table below is in USD, before tax — Thai customers add 7% VAT (we don't show an approximate Baht figure because exchange rates fluctuate).

Plan Monthly Annual Includes
Team Standard $25/seat/mo $20/seat/mo
= $240/seat/yr
Claude app (chat), connectors
Team Premium $125/seat/mo $100/seat/mo
= $1,200/seat/yr
+ Claude Code + 5x usage
Enterprise Contact sales — seat fee + usage (at API rates) SSO, SCIM, audit, ZDR, Compliance API

What to know about billing

  • Annual = paid upfront for the full year in one charge, e.g. Premium 1 seat = $1,200 charged once, not $100 monthly
  • Monthly is ~25% more than annual ($125 vs $100, $25 vs $20)
  • Anthropic's prices exclude tax — Thai customers add 7% VAT, e.g. Premium $1,200 + VAT = $1,284/seat/yr
  • You can mix seats — give devs Premium and others Standard; see mixed-cost examples in the Premium Seat article or Max vs Team for a 10-person team

What is the minimum number of seats for Claude Team?

Claude Team always requires a minimum of 5 seats. Smaller teams (1–4 people) must use individual Pro or Max plans. Enterprise has a higher minimum, typically starting around 50 seats. If your organization starts small and scales later, begin with Team and add seats through the admin console at any time.

Is our data used to train the model? How long is it kept?

This is the question Thai compliance teams ask most. The short answer is that commercial plans are not used for training — but you must clearly separate them from consumer plans.

  • Team / Enterprise / API / Gov (commercial): Anthropic does not train models on your input/output by default under its commercial terms — no opt-in/opt-out toggle
  • Free / Pro / Max (consumer): data is used for training by default unless turned off (policy changed Aug 2025) → organizations should not use personal accounts for real work
  • Retention: Team keeps conversations 30 days by default then purges; standard API logs are kept 7 days (since 14 Sept 2025)
  • Enterprise: configurable custom data retention + self-serve Zero Data Retention (ZDR), enabled per organization via the account team

Important: Claude is a cloud service — unlike an on-premise ERP where data stays on the organization's own server. So you should not use phrasing like "data never leaves your organization" for Claude; instead speak to commercial-grade protection and defined governance.

Is using Claude in Thailand PDPA-compliant, and where is the data?

Claude processes data in the US by default (Enterprise offers data residency options such as the EU under contract). Cross-border transfer from Thailand to the US falls under PDPA Sections 28/29, which Anthropic supports with a DPA plus Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC). Organizations should set policy on which data types may or may not be entered into Claude. For a deeper dive, see Claude Team and PDPA for Thai organizations.

Does Claude Team support SSO / SCIM / audit logs?

Team supports SAML SSO, central billing, and basic admin controls, but full enterprise features — SCIM provisioning, domain capture, detailed audit logs, role-based permissions, IP allowlisting, Compliance API — are Enterprise-only. If your organization mandates SSO/SCIM under its security policy, plan for Enterprise. See configuration guidance in Claude Team admin policy.

Which plan has Claude Code?

Claude Code (the CLI coding agent) is in the Premium seat of Team and in the Enterprise plan — the Standard seat ($20) is Claude app (chat) only, with no Claude Code. If your dev team wants an official coding agent (with audit trail + spend caps), the Premium seat is the answer, and it can connect to internal systems via MCP.

Can usage or tokens be shared across the team?

This usually comes from organizations worried that "if we buy 5 seats and one person uses it heavily, will they drain everyone else's quota?" The answer is no — usage limits are per-seat, not a shared central pool. A heavy user only affects their own quota, not their teammates'.

  • Per-seat quota — a single heavy user does not push others to their limit faster
  • Premium seats have ~5x the per-seat quota of Standard — match the tier to who works heavily
  • Within one seat, Claude Code and chat share the same pool — a heavy Claude Code morning leaves less chat headroom that afternoon for that person
  • Team uses rolling 5-hour limits + a weekly cap — not a single token bucket you top up and split

If you want a "pooled quota" billed on actual consumption and shared org-wide, the better fit is Enterprise usage (billed at API rates) or using your organization's API key / Claude Code via API rather than Team subscription seats.

How do I migrate a personal (Pro / Max) account to Team?

Many people start on personal Claude Pro or Max, then want to bring that account into Team when the organization buys. The key point: Team cannot "merge" chat history or data from a personal account — when invited to a Team you join as a new member in an empty workspace, and your personal account remains separate.

Aspect Team Enterprise
Claim accounts in your domain not possible claim accounts in a verified domain
Merge prior chat history No merge — the new workspace starts from zero on both Team and Enterprise
Inviting members Admin invites one-by-one / invite link SSO / SCIM provisioning + domain capture

Practical steps when migrating:

  1. Cancel the personal subscription (Pro/Max) so you don't pay twice alongside a Team seat
  2. If you want to keep prior work — you can export personal account data as JSON from settings (but cannot import it back into Team). The practical approach is to summarize key context and paste it as the first message of a new chat or attach it to a Team Project
  3. Organizations with a verified domain on Enterprise can claim employees' accounts under that domain for centralized management — unlike Team, which cannot
  4. Start the new Team and have the team set up connectors/Projects in the central workspace from the start, to share context rather than relying on personal history

Should you pick Team or Enterprise?

Your situation Recommendation
5–50 people, can self-configure, SSO not mandatory Team
SSO/SCIM or detailed audit logs required by policy Enterprise
Need Zero Data Retention / data residency Enterprise
Large organization > 50–150 people Enterprise
Start small, try it out, then scale Team (add seats later)

Why buy through Grand Linux instead of paying Anthropic by card?

The main reason is documentation and expense filing for Thai finance/procurement. Anthropic bills in USD by credit card, with no Thai tax invoice, no PO process, and no support for withholding tax — which makes filing and closing the books hard for Thai organizations.

What Grand Linux handles (procurement service)

  • Thai-style tax invoice + 7% VAT and withholding-tax support
  • Accepts POs + quotes in Thai on your procurement cycle
  • Payment in Thai Baht — no foreign credit card required
  • Manages renewals / billing and coordinates with Anthropic on your behalf — no need to deal with them in English

Do you offer help with setup, training, or integration?

Our core service is license procurement plus the documentation/billing above. Work that requires additional team effort — usage training (onsite/online), use-case design, or integrating Claude with your ERP/Intranet/SSO — is an optional add-on (paid), quoted separately by scope. Pre-sales consultation to pick the right package is available at no cost.

How do you get started?

  1. Count your users and split who needs Claude Code (Premium) vs chat only (Standard)
  2. Decide Team or Enterprise from the table above (SSO/ZDR/team size)
  3. Request a quote in Thai from Grand Linux, specifying the billing cycle (annual is cheaper)
  4. Issue a PO / pay in Baht and we provision the seats + send the tax invoice

The best question before buying Claude for an organization isn't "which plan is cheapest" — it's "what data can we enter, who should get which seat, and is the paperwork complete for expense filing." Answer those three first, then choose the plan.
